Transport Clerk

Reed in Middlesbrough have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated individual to join their clients busy and expanding transport office. This role is perfect for someone looking to progress and gain hands-on experience in a thriving and supportive environment.

This is a permanent, full-time office based role, working Monday - Friday, some flexibility is required from time to time with hours as usually you will work 9 - 5 however on some busier days you will be required to work longer but will also have shorter days in return in quieter periods.

• Work closely with the transport team to organise and plan the daily operations of their UK fleet.
• Maintain high levels of communication within the team and with external contacts to ensure efficient transport operations.
• Utilise your geographical knowledge of the UK to enhance route planning and logistics.
• Organise and process orders from customers, fulfilling requests and ensuring high levels of customer service.
• Liaise with drivers to manage daily requirements and address any issues that arise.
• Report to the operations manager to ensure smooth and efficient running of day-to-day duties.

• Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational skills and a high level of customer service.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Experience in transportation management systems is preferred but not required.
• Must hold a valid Driving Licence.
