We are supporting a leading logistics business with the recruitment of a Transport Coordinator to manage day‑to‑day continental transport activity, maintain strong communication with suppliers and internal teams, and ensure the smooth, efficient movement of goods across the network. This role is central to maintaining delivery performance, managing transit issues, and ensuring accurate, timely updates within operational systems.
The Transport Coordinator will work closely with hauliers, internal departments and the wider operations team to plan, monitor and execute transport activity, ensuring customer service, cost control and operational reliability.
THE ROLE

You’ll be responsible for monitoring transit movements, updating systems, resolving transport issues, coordinating capacity with suppliers, and ensuring customer services are fully informed. You will also support customs‑related communication, cost‑effective stock management and adherence to safe working practices.
Key responsibilities include:

Maintaining strong communication with hauliers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure delivery and loading times are achieved.

Managing transport issues promptly, updating systems and informing relevant departments of any changes.
*
Ensuring all booking information, references and system updates are accurate and completed on time.
*
Executing daily transport tasks with an understanding of financial impact.
*
Monitoring transit arrivals, identifying anomalies and communicating non‑shipments for corrective action.
*
Reserving capacity with suppliers and communicating operational requirements in advance.
*
Keeping customer services updated and offering alternatives where transit times cannot be met, including cost approvals.
*
Coordinating trial loads and sensitive transport requirements with relevant departments.
*
Highlighting volume fluctuations early to support planning and resource allocation.
*
Ensuring timely communication regarding customs events.
*
Maintaining on‑time delivery performance within defined parameters.
