Transport Manager

Transport Manager required. Our client is a well-established and growing Trade Plate Delivery company, specializing in the transportation of vehicles across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Transport Manager with a strong focus on efficiency, compliance, and customer service to oversee their logistics operations and ensure the smooth running of their fleet.

Role Overview

As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for managing daily transport operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, optimizing efficiency, and leading a team of trade plate drivers. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining high service levels while controlling costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport operations, ensuring efficient and timely vehicle movements.
• Manage a team of trade plate drivers, including recruitment, training, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations and other transport legislation.
• Optimize route planning to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements, driver hours, and compliance documentation.
• Liaise with clients to provide updates, resolve issues, and uphold high service standards.
• Handle transport-related incidents, ensuring swift resolution with minimal disruption.
• Monitor and manage fleet costs, including fuel, maintenance, and insurance.
• Work closely with senior management to develop and implement transport strategies that support business growth.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a transport management role, ideally within vehicle delivery or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make proactive decisions.
• Strong IT skills, including experience with transport management systems and Excel.
• Full UK driving licence (CPC qualification is desirable but not essential).
