Location: Manchester
Salary: Up to £43,000 per annum
Hours: 07:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday (1 in 4 Sundays)

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled professional to lead and support our growing transport team based in Manchester.

• Lead and manage internal and external audits for the Transport department.

• Hold and maintain a valid CPC accreditation on behalf of the company.

• Manage a fleet of 20+ vehicles, including all aspects of record-keeping, servicing, and maintenance.

• Supervise driver compliance with tachographs, working time directives, and company policies.

• Conduct recruitment, training, and disciplinary processes for drivers.

• Monitor vehicle and driver checks, ensuring operational safety and compliance.

• Deliver corrective training to improve driver performance and reduce risk.

• Foster a positive, results-driven culture through leadership and motivation.

• Liaise with other operational departments to ensure seamless collaboration.

• Carry out minor repairs where needed to minimise vehicle off-road (VOR) time.

• Proven experience as a Transport Manager with a valid National CPC - Essential

• Background in airfreight and logistics - Preferred

• Experience managing fleets of 20+ vehicles

• Strong knowledge of fleet management systems and vehicle tracking tools

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Solid understanding of compliance, audits, and operational procedures

• Ability to review, implement, and improve transport processes

• Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of solving problems under pressure

• Class 1 licence - Desirable but not essential

• Full UK driving licence - Essential

• Willingness to undergo a full 5-year background check

• Competitive salary: £40,000 - £43,000
