Salary: £40,000 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of our passenger transport operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant running of our fleet, drivers, and associated transport services, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of around 20 drivers and vehicles, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety requirements.
• Plan and oversee daily operations, including vehicle allocation, driver scheduling, and route planning.
• Coordinate with interchange supervisors and ensure smooth passenger changeovers.
• Organise and manage additional transport arrangements, including taxis, when required for customer journeys.
• Provide leadership, support, and development for drivers, supervisors, and operational staff.
• Ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high service standards.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and liaise with engineering/maintenance teams.
• Handle incident reports, driver performance, and disciplinary matters as necessary.
• Work closely with the Traffic Assistant, who will provide support and report directly into the Transport Manager.
• Maintain accurate records in line with company policies and compliance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Transport Manager or similar role within the passenger transport or logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of transport legislation, compliance, and driver hours regulations.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate staff across multiple levels.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
• A CPC in Passenger Transport Management is highly desirable.
