Our client is a privately owned, highly respected business operating behind the scenes of some of the UK's most prestigious music and live events. Known for delivering a premium, high-touch service, they design, build, transport and support specialist equipment used at major venues, concerts and productions nationwide.
As the business continues to grow, they are creating a brand-new Transport Manager position that will play a pivotal role in ensuring equipment reaches the right place, at the right time, every time.

The Role
This is a hands-on site mainly based position combining transport planning, logistics coordination and some driving responsibilities, stepping when a driver is unavailable.
Working closely with the engineering team, you will take ownership of the company's transport function, managing the movement of specialist equipment to events, venues and client locations across the UK.
As the business grows, this role is expected to evolve into a more strategic transport management position with responsibility for additional vehicles and drivers.
Overseeing a team of 3 drivers.
Key responsibilities include:
Transport & Logistics Management
Planning and coordinating equipment deliveries and collections nationwide Managing vehicle schedules to maximise utilisation and efficiency Maintaining accurate delivery schedules and transport records Working closely with engineers to understand project requirements and deadlines Monitoring routes, travel plans and delivery timings Managing last-minute changes and responding quickly to operational demands
Driving Duties
Occasionally stepping into driving the company 3.5-tonne vehicle to events, venues and customer locations when a member of the team is unavailable. Loading, unloading and securing specialist equipment safely Conducting vehicle inspections and ensuring roadworthiness Maintaining high standards of vehicle presentation and professionalism
Administration & Communication
Liaising with event managers, venues and customers regarding delivery schedules Coordinating transport requirements via phone and email Maintaining transport documentation and records Supporting operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives

The nature of this business means flexibility is essential. Events don't always operate within standard office hours; therefore, this opportunity will suit someone who can genuinely adapt to the requirements of the role, including evenings, nights and occasional weekend working.
You will ideally have:
Essential
Previous transport coordination, logistics, fleet management or transport planning experience Full UK Driving Licence Experience driving larger commercial vehicles or delivery vehicles Excellent organisational and scheduling skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Good administrative and IT skills Ability to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure Professional, customer-focused approach Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving equipment where required A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership
Desirable
Knowledge of transport compliance and vehicle regulationsAdditional Requirement
