Transport Planner

Due to continued growth our client is actively seeking a skilled and proven Transport Planner to join their successful team based in York.

This is a great opportunity for skilled Planner to work directly with the Transport Manager and progress their career in a longstanding and reputable company.

Transport Planner Job Overview

• Supervise a team of drivers issuing work daily.
• Monitor and adjust transport plan as necessary to ensure optimum efficiency.
• Allocating jobs and briefing drivers of delivery criteria required.
• Ensure all keys tasks are completed in a timely manner to meet the needs of the business.
• Proactively communicate with customers regarding any delays with loading & unloading of loads.
• Ensure fleet compliance using management software to produce reports, analysis etc
• Plan vehicles for inspection / service / repairs as required.

Transport Planner Job Requirements

• The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication skills.
• Be proactive and able to work under their own initiative.
• Computer Literate with experience of Transport Management systems.
• Good UK road network and national geographic knowledge essential.
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
• Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale

Transport Planner Salary & Benefits

• £30 - 40k dependant on experience
• Performance related bonus scheme (on top of salary)
• Immediate start available
• Monday - Friday core hours
