Job Description - Transport Planner

Our client is looking for a Transport Planner to join their growing team in Horley. This is an ideal role for someone who is organised, reliable & confident in planning & managing daily transport operations.

What’s in it for you?

Monday to Friday with flexible shift times | 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm, 8am-5pm
£26,000 - £31,000pa DOE
20 days holiday + Bank Holidays, with 3 days allocated for Christmas shutdown
Overtime available every other Saturday, paid at enhanced rates
Free onsite parking
Company Pension (contributory scheme)

The Role:
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for keeping things running smoothly & efficiently day-to-day.

Key duties include:

Planning daily transport routes efficiently, to ensure the best use of time & resources
Working closely with engineers/drivers & internal teams to make sue schedules run to plan
Ensure compliance with driver hours & PL01 records are updated and filed
Dealing with any issues or delays as they arise & adjusting plans where needed
Building & maintaining good working relationships with both suppliers, customers

The Person:

Experienced in planning & optimising transport routes
Confident communicator who works well with others & can handle a busy environment
Well-organised with a good eye for detail and the ability to juggle tasks
A good understanding of transport rules and regulations
