Transport Planner

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner who will be responsible for the deployment and routing of delivery vehicles around the UK and the EU. This will include planning, allocating resources and administrating delivery metrics on a day-to-day basis. The successful candidate will be able to prioritise objectives and schedules to make the best use of time and resources.

Responsibilities:

• Plan workloads whilst ensuring compliance with drivers hours and working time directive legislation.
• Using geographical knowledge to maximise the fleet ability to work.
• Plan the vehicles whilst ensuring running costs are kept to a minimum.
• Briefing and debriefing drivers before and after their shifts.
• Adjusting routes when change is required.
• Liaise with customers to ensure work is booked and scheduled correctly.
• Responsible for driver queries face to face and via the telephone.
• Preparation and completion of customs documentation and any additional paperwork.
• Remain extremely professional when dealing with internal and external customers and ensuring a high level of customer service.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Transport Planner within a busy and fast-paced transport office.
• A strong understanding of Transport Operating Systems.
• Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Relationship Building and ability to work to Deadlines.
• Experience with Monitoring Drivers.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a salary between £40-45k DOE. The working hours are between Monday to Friday 8am-6pm.
