Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules to ensure the timely delivery and collection of goods. Liaise with production and internal departments to ensure goods are available in line with loading and dispatch requirements. Work closely with freight forwarders to arrange haulage, shipping, and associated logistics activities. Prepare and maintain accurate transport and shipping documentation within required timescales. Monitor loading, dispatch, and delivery processes to maximise operational efficiency and service levels. Allocate vehicles, drivers, and routes effectively to optimise transport performance. Investigate and resolve transport-related issues, delays, and customer queries promptly. Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, company policies, and quality standards. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners. Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute positively to wider business objectives. Promote outstanding customer service and supplier engagement at all times.About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 3 years' experience within transport planning, logistics, or a similar operational environment. Strong knowledge of HGV regulations, road transport legislation, and compliance requirements. Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS); knowledge of Webfleet would be advantageous. Excellent organisational and planning skills with strong attention to detail. The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
