Transport Planner

Right Now Group are recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a leading international logistics organisation based in Hayes, Heathrow.

This is a busy 24/7 airline transport operation, coordinating vehicles between the company's facility and airline handling sheds across Heathrow Airport.

Working predominantly across the Airline Transport Fleet (ATF), you'll be responsible for planning vehicles delivering export cargo into Heathrow and collecting import freight from airline and cargo handling facilities, ensuring movements are completed efficiently and within airline deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Plan daily airline transport movements across Heathrow Airport, allocating vehicles and drivers for export deliveries and import collections.
Manage and monitor the Airline Transport Fleet (ATF) throughout the shift, ensuring vehicles reach airline sheds and cargo facilities within required timescales.
Monitor live vehicle movements, responding quickly to delays, urgent requirements and changing operational priorities.
Prioritise export freight around airline cut-off times and coordinate import collections once cargo becomes available for release.
Liaise closely with drivers, warehouse teams and freight operations to ensure the smooth movement of cargo across Heathrow.
Maintain accurate transport records and system updates, resolve day-to-day operational issues and provide clear shift handovers.

The Successful Candidate

Previous experience within Transport Planning, Airline Transport, Freight Transport or Fleet Operations.
Airfreight, freight forwarding or airport transport experience would be advantageous.
Knowledge of Heathrow airline sheds and cargo handling facilities would be beneficial.
Previous Airline Transport Fleet (ATF) experience would be advantageous, although wider transport planning backgrounds will be considered.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage changing priorities.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with drivers and operational teams.

Salary & Benefits

£35,000 - £39,000 per annum, including shift pay.
4 Days On → 4 Days Off → 4 Nights On → 4 Days Off.
Candidates must be comfortable working days, nights and weekends as part of the rotation.
