Transport Planner

Right Hire Recruitment is seeking a motivated Logistics Coordinator to manage and coordinate transport operations, ensuring the efficient, compliant and timely movement of goods across the UK and Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving operational challenges and has strong IT and communication skills.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate all inbound and outbound transport activities across the business.
* Plan collections, deliveries and transport schedules to meet operational demands.
* Liaise with despatch teams and external transport providers to ensure smooth operations.
* Manage transport documentation, delivery notes and quality certifications.
* Allocate driver jobs and maintain accurate transport schedules using transport management systems.
* Coordinate European import and export shipments, ensuring customs compliance and accurate documentation.
* Monitor transport performance, resolve operational issues and escalate delays where necessary.
* Maintain transport records and systems, including ERP platforms.
* Work closely with internal departments to improve processes and operational efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and transport regulations.
🔹 What We’re Looking For
* Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
* Experience with Epicor, SAP or similar business systems.
* Knowledge of customs clearance and international shipping procedures.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* An understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement.
* Previous experience in transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
