Transport Planner 4/4 Days - Position Overview

Our client is a market-leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics, offering a wide range of services including container transport and storage, domestic distribution, warehousing, freight management, and truck sales.

We are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join their busy depot at London Gateway. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a well-established logistics company.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate multiple drivers daily
Liaise directly with UK ports to book delivery slots
Use the TOPS transport system to record drivers' start and finish times
Monitor ETAs and ensure timely deliveries
Reroute jobs efficiently when required
Ensure all PODs (Proof of Deliveries) are accurately matched with corresponding jobs in the system
Communicate with customers regarding potential delays and delivery updates

Requirements

Proven experience in transport operations - essential
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong geographical knowledge of the UK
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Quick thinking with strong problem-solving skills
Highly organised and detail-oriented
Flexibility to meet business demands
Container experience - desirable

Remuneration & Benefits

Working Hours: 4 on, 4 off (06:00-18:00)
Salary will be dependent on experience
