Transport Shift Manager
Location: Haverhill, Suffolk
Salary: £41,100.80 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Shifts: 4 on 4 off (Days - 07:00 to 19:00)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Overview:
Robert Walters is delighted to be recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager on behalf of our client, a leading player in the FMCG logistics sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment, managing the daily operations of a busy transport function.

The Role:
You'll be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods across multiple retail clients, overseeing a large fleet and team including drivers, shunters, and transport office staff. Key duties include:

• Leading, motivating, and supporting your shift team

• Managing delivery performance, driver compliance, and legal standards (WTD, Drivers' Hours, vehicle safety)

• Ensuring high levels of communication between teams and departments

• Handling HR processes including absence, disciplinary, investigations, and team development

• Supporting continuous improvement, safety awareness, and fleet compliance

The Operation:

• Fleet: c. 40 vehicles and 115 trailers

• Runs: ~70 daily across leading UK retailers

• Team: ~90 drivers & shunters + office staff

• Reports to: Transport Manager

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in a transport supervisory or management role (FMCG preferred)

• Strong working knowledge of transport compliance and driver regulations

• Confident with people management, including HR procedures

• Able to thrive in a pressurised, fast-moving environment

• CPC is advantageous (not essential - training can be provided)

Package & Benefits:

• Salary: £41,100.80

• Performance Bonus (5%)
