Transport Supervisor

Job Title: Transport Section Leader / Supervisor – Logistics
Location: Leicestershire
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, Monday to Friday

The Role

A logistics operation in Leicestershire is looking for an experienced Transport Section Leader/Supervisor to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a busy regional transport function. This is a hands-on operational leadership role, responsible for turning the transport plan into reality: managing drivers, resolving disruptions in real time, and keeping deliveries and collections moving across a defined regional patch.

What the role involves

* Full accountability for executing the daily transport plan for the region

* Managing driver allocation, delays, breakdowns and last-minute changes

* Overseeing POD collection and resolving queries from customers and internal teams

* Line management of a small transport team including a planner and deputy section leader

* Working closely with the planning function so plans are realistic and deliverable

* Building a calm, well-run shift culture, not a shouting one

What's needed

* Proven experience as a Transport Supervisor, Section Leader, Shift Manager or similar within haulage, distribution or logistics

* Comfortable under pressure with the ability to problem-solve on the fly

* Strong people management skills and a calm, steady approach

* Experience with transport management systems is an advantage
