The Family

A distinguished international family with homes in Italy, Spain, and Uruguay is seeking an exceptional Butler/Valet to accompany and support the Principal across multiple properties. This is a long-term role within a UHNW household environment, requiring a candidate with proven discretion, adaptability, and service at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities

The Butler will provide seamless personal service and household support across locations, with duties including (but not limited to):

  • Table setting, silver service, and etiquette to the highest standards
    

  
  

  • Wine and drinks service
    

  
  



• Valeting & Wardrobe Management:
  

  
  
  
  

  • Packing and unpacking for frequent international travel
    

  
  

  • Wardrobe care, including pressing, steaming, shoe care, and clothing organisation
    

  
  

  • Liaising with luxury dry cleaners and tailors
    

  
  



• Household Oversight & Liaison:
  

  
  
  
  

  • Acting as the Principal’s point of contact with local household teams
    

  
  

  • Ensuring consistency of standards across properties
    

  
  

  • Supervising tradespeople, contractors, and suppliers when required
    

  
  

  • Household organisation, inventory management, and supplies

  • Coordinating luggage, logistics, and personal requirements while abroad
    

  
  

  • Maintaining discretion and security awareness at all times
    

  
  

Schedule

• International travel required between Italy, Spain, and Uruguay
  




• Stays vary (e.g. Uruguay: typically 1 week per month, longer periods Dec–Jan; Italy: short visits; Spain: mixed short/long stays)
  




• Working hours to align with the Principal’s schedule – flexibility required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Butler, Valet, or Travelling Butler in UHNW households, preferably with royal, VIP, or formal service background

• Strong valeting skills with meticulous attention to wardrobe and presentation
  
  


• Confident in both formal and informal service styles
  
  


• Discreet, loyal, and able to anticipate needs without instruction
  
  


• Strong organisational skills and ability to adapt across multiple properties with differing staff structures (from large household teams to smaller residences)
  
  


• EU or UK passport for ease of international travel (family to arrange any additional visas/work permits) but not essential
  
  


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
