Not every engineer gets to test rocket motors. This is one of those roles.
We're supporting a world-leading engineering organisation developing advanced propulsion technology, and they're looking for a Trials Engineer to join their growing Test & Evaluation team.
From planning and executing static firing trials to analysing performance data and working on live explosive operations, this is a genuinely hands-on engineering role where no two days are the same.
Whether you're an experienced test engineer, come from aerospace, defence, automotive or motorsport, or you're leaving the Armed Forces with relevant technical experience, this is an opportunity to work on programmes few engineers ever get to experience.
What you'll be doing
Planning and delivering static firing trials from initial request through to formal test completion. Installing and operating instrumentation including pressure, thrust and high-speed data acquisition systems. Analysing test data and investigating anomalies to support product development and qualification. Working alongside experienced engineers within a highly controlled and safety-critical environment. Supporting continuous improvement of test methods, equipment and processes. Building experience across multiple products and test facilities with structured mentoring and development.
You'll have an engineering qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent experience) together with practical experience in testing, instrumentation or technical engineering.
We're particularly interested in candidates from:
Aerospace Defence Motorsport Automotive Test & Development Armed Forces (REME, Royal Artillery, Ammunition Technical, Weapons Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, EOD and similar technical trades)
Just as importantly, you'll have a methodical approach, a strong safety mindset and enjoy solving engineering problems through practical testing.
What's in it for you?
Work on genuinely unique engineering programmes. Structured development with a clear pathway to Senior Trials Engineer. Opportunity to gain specialist qualifications, including Range Safety Officer. Funded professional development. Join a growing engineering team investing in new facilities, equipment and capability.
If you're looking for an engineering career that's practical, technically challenging and unlike anything else in industry, we'd love to hear from you Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
