Job Description - Trusts and Foundations Manager

Merrifield Consultants are proud to be partnering with Ascension Community Trust (ACT), a fantastic East London charity that supports some of the most vulnerable individuals in the community. Through a wide range of services, ACT helps families, older people, and those with complex needs to gain new skills, secure employment, overcome poverty, and build fulfilling, connected lives.

We are now helping ACT recruit a Trusts and Foundations Manager, a newly created role that offers the opportunity to shape the organisation's trusts and foundations strategy from the ground up. You'll play a key role in building new funding relationships and will work closely with a passionate leadership team that is ambitious about the charity's future growth and impact.

Job Title: Trusts and Foundations Manager
Organisation: Ascension Community Trust
Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Location: London
Working Pattern: 1-2 days in the office a week
Responsible To: CEO
Closing Date: Friday 25th July
Required: CV and Cover Letter

Responsibilities:

  • Generating income for ACT through the development and implementation of a trusts and foundations fundraising strategy.
  • Research prospective trusts and foundations.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of applications and calendar for applications.
  • Identify opportunities for statutory funding bids and help writing statutory funding applications.
  • Stewarding relationships with funders and working with project managers to compile reports on previous grants.
  • Contribute to the development of a fundraising strategy for ACT.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • At least three years' experience in trusts and foundations fundraising.
  • Proven record of successful applications for substantial funding from trusts and grant-making bodies.
  • Experience of prospect research of potential trust/foundation funders, and of building a funding pipeline.
  • Experience of organising and compiling quantitative and qualitative information in support of applications.
  • Experience of developing and stewarding a portfolio of funders.
  • Ability to adapt writing style to the audience and to create compelling narratives.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, and partners to create funding bids and reports.
