UI/UX Designer & Front End Developer

Infinitive Group is looking for a

UI/UX Front End Developer

to work with our team.
You will be expected to work within a small team to both support existing products and develop exciting new systems.
Our work is hugely varied. We have a wide range of project timescales, and we use a huge variety of technology stacks, so we need versatile and passionate people to tackle new problems as we continue to push technology forward. The ability to research and problem solve is more important to us than experience in one technology stack.

Responsibilities
·

Design and Development:

Design and develop software solutions, including aesthetically pleasing and intuitive frontend dashboard and user interfaces.
·

Presentation:

Take complex data sources and condense them into visualisations that allow non-technical people to gain insights and make decisions based on them.
·

Problem Solving

: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of the software applications.
·

Collaboration

: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.
·

Documentation

: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, API specifications, and deployment procedures.
·

Innovation

: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Introduce innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of our software products. Capable of learning new technologies and frameworks and applying them to existing best practices.

Systems Administration:

Maintain and develop production platforms to run the developed software on.
·

Client Interface:

Interface regularly with clients to build and maintain positive relationships, understand their needs, derive requirements, and ensure satisfaction with the products and services provided by the company.

Technical skills
We need you to

already

have:
•

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, GIS or related field. (Extensive experience can be used as a substitute)
•

Demonstrable knowledge of front-end development and web frameworks
•

Expertise in handling, processing and manipulating event data
•

Expertise in handling, processing and manipulating time series data
•

Expertise in handling, processing and manipulating geospatial data
•

Proven experience (2 years) in data visualisation / front-end development
•

Proficient in agile methodology
•

Proficient in both complex problem solving and troubleshooting/debugging
•

Competence in GIS software (ESRI suite, QGIS, ArcPy)
•

Proficiency in visualisation platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Redash)
•

Proficiency in UI/UX and product design
•

Proficiency in one or more of the following: Javascript/Typescript, Python, PHP
•

Competence in Microsoft Power Suite (Power Apps, Automate, BI, Pages) and DAX expressions.
•

Capable of being self-motivated and working independently from high level goals

The following are

desirable

and would strengthen your application:
•

Proven experience (5+ years) in software development, with a focus on industrial or safety applications.
•

Experience of working in the Railway/construction Industry (strongly desirable)
•

Expertise in data engineering/ science practices
•

Knowledge of data integrity and information assurance
•

Full UK Driving Licence
