The Transpennine Route Upgrade Project (TRU) is a circa £2b multi-disciplinary project upgrading the existing railway route between Manchester and Leeds through the Pennines. It is the largest rail and infrastructure project in the north of England over the next 5 years. BAM work as part of the Transpire Alliance structure with Amey, Arup and Network Rail, meaning we all have Alliance facing roles as well as undertaking our BAM responsibilities. We require a Quality Manager to join the team working out of project and site offices in Leeds or Manchester, with site based requirements across the Transpennine route.
Integrated Management System - Proactively manage, coordinate and maintain the Alliance Integrated Management System (IMS) with Process Owners and document authors. Support the development and implementation of quality plans, inspection and test plans and quality control methods. Undertake quality audits.
Quality Performance - Identify and manage project quality risks in a graded approach, working with stakeholders. Work with the Head of Systems & Quality to ensure adherence with the project and programme quality management strategy and approach. Develop and monitor quality performance indicators. Non-conformance management of the Alliance processes, procedures, work instructions and specifications. Facilitate improvement in quality standards. Maintain appropriate quality management governance and assist in administering the Quality Management Steering Group.
Digital Construction - Understand BIM models and advise on capturing quality management data for reporting. Appreciate the importance and management of data quality. Provide support at workshops to advise on new technology initiatives.
Quality Culture - Assist the Head of Systems & Quality in designing and developing quality management initiatives, policies and processes and controls. Develop Quality Alerts on best practices, audit non-conformances and lessons learnt. Assist the Alliance Lean Manager in identifying lessons learnt so the Alliance can benefit from shared learning.
People management - Build strong relationships across the Alliance and supply chain to achieve compliance. Represent the Alliance on various external forums. Visit each project site to audit, inspect quality compliance and provide encouragement and advice.
General - Attend project and programme meetings as required. Travel to offices throughout the UK (overnight stays may be required).
