Job Description - Underwriter

Manage end-to-end underwriting of new bridging applications
Maintain regular communication with brokers, solicitors, and valuers
Continuously assess risk throughout the life of each case.

Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing specialist lender, is seeking an experienced Bridging Finance Underwriter to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in bridging finance to play a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end underwriting of new bridging applications in line with internal lending policies.
Maintain regular communication with brokers, solicitors, and valuers to ensure outstanding service delivery.
Continuously assess risk throughout the life of each case.
Liaise with the funding team to ensure timely drawdowns for cases nearing completion.
Provide consistent updates on pipeline activity and individual case progression to internal teams.
Identify opportunities to improve underwriting processes and enhance efficiency.
Meet personal and team-based KPIs while managing workload and priorities effectively.

Candidate Profile:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in bridging or specialist finance underwriting.
CeMAP qualification is desirable.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong understanding of mortgage regulatory requirements.
Highly organised with an eye for detail and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
Adaptable and comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced environment.
