We’re Hiring: Lending Underwriter & Packager Mortgage Sector

Are you detail-driven, customer-focused, and looking to grow your career in mortgage underwriting or packaging?

An exciting opportunity has opened at a well-established financial services company within our dynamic underwriting and packaging team. We’re seeking a Lending Underwriter and Packager to help process and manage both 1st and 2nd charge mortgage applications — from Decision in Principle through to completion.

This is an ideal role for someone with experience in mortgage lending or financial services, but we also welcome applications from those eager to build a career in this area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and process full underwriting requirements for 1st and 2nd charge mortgage applications
• Package applications to ensure all necessary information is correct and compliant
• Liaise with brokers and customers via phone, email and letter
• Order valuations and manage case progression to meet internal SLAs
• Prioritise workload with your team manager and keep stakeholders updated on cases
• Maintain high levels of accuracy, integrity and customer service throughout the process
• Support colleagues as needed and remain flexible during peak business periods

What Were Looking For:

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience in underwriting, packaging or mortgage lending (preferred)
• CeMAP qualification (advantageous, but not essential)
