Overview:
A growing, dynamic lender in the alternative finance sector is seeking an experienced Asset Finance Underwriter to join its Risk team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in assessing and underwriting new business proposals, supporting deal structuring, and upholding a robust credit risk framework. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong underwriting skills and a passion for helping businesses thrive through responsible lending.

Key Responsibilities:

Independently underwrite asset finance deals within mandate.
Conduct due diligence and act as 1st underwriter on larger deals.
Collaborate with the Business Development team to structure new business proposals.
Ensure credit oversight of new and existing facilities is in line with credit policy and appetite.
Deliver training on underwriting and credit risk to internal teams.
Share and implement best practices across regional teams to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Support the Risk Director and broader Risk team with ad-hoc initiatives.

Requirements:

Solid experience in Asset Finance and broader Asset-Based Lending.
Proven expertise in deal structuring and leveraging primary and secondary security.
Strong financial analysis and commercial awareness.
Demonstrated ability to coach and develop colleagues.
Excellent attention to detail, particularly in handling client and deal data.
Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Clear and confident communication skills.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and with external stakeholders.
Willingness to travel for client visits, events, and meetings across UK offices (may include overnight stays).
