Hybrid - 2 to 3 days from their Manchester office, the rest from home.

Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 p.a. + bonus + benefits including share options.

Fantastic Opportunity for experienced Residential and Commercial Property Underwriter to join this highly successful global insurance group, property MGA with A rated capacity and a Lloyd’s of London cover holder. Hybrid working available from their office in central Manchester. Great promotional prospects.

The role is undertaking new business and renewals mainly within residential property, however there is some commercial cross over underwriting commercially let holiday homes, flats above commercial premises, commercial properties that are undergoing renovation into residential etc. with varying risks.

The Residential and Commercial Property Underwriting team handles new, existing and renewal business.

Main Duties of Underwriter - Residential & Commercial Property

• Underwrite in accordance with the Internal Underwriting Guide and the Underwriting authority awarded.
• Trade with Brokers to maximise conversion and retention within your authority.
• Renewal/Existing and New Business Control.
• Take underwriting referrals from other offices.
• Understand/support and drive income, conversion and retention objectives.
• Assist in the development of new and existing products.
• Deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers and other third parties.
• Underwrite taking all necessary care to protect the interest of our capacity providers.
• Carry out macro underwriting tasks as required.
• Perform other duties from time to time as determined by the management.
• Monthly reporting to Line Manager.

Experience Required for Underwriter - Residential & Commercial Property

• Previous Commercial and/or Residential Property Underwriting experience.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
