Job Description - Underwriting Operations Manager

As Operations Manager you willl provide support to the Underwriting teams of both the Syndicate and MGA trading platforms. You will be instrumental in delivering accurate and insightful management information (MI), supporting underwriting governance, and enhancing operational processes across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality management information, insights, and portfolio reporting
  • Support the CUO in overseeing Syndicate performance, risk control administration, and audit coordination
  • Develop, implement and enhance underwriting operations processes aligned with the Group’s data strategy
  • Monitor underwriting controls across delegated and non-delegated portfolios
  • Assist in internal and external audits and independent peer reviews
  • Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s underwriting principles and regulatory requirements
  • Support premium income reviews and help maintain accurate premium forecasting
  • Contribute to operational efficiency projects

  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to resolving queries and improving processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outputs on time
  • Collaborative team player who shares knowledge and contributes positively to team dynamics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to represent the function at internal and market-facing meetings

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Lloyd’s or London (re)insurance market
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage with all levels across internal departments and external partners
