I am currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's Insurer who are seeking a Delegated Underwriting Performance Manager to join their growing team.

The purpose of this role is to deliver effective delegated underwriting performance management across the business, with the overarching goal of achieving sustainable underwriting performance throughout the insurance cycle. My client is looking for someone with strong experience in Delegated Underwriting and/or portfolio management of delegated arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the oversight and performance management of Lloyd's delegated underwriting portfolio, across the full distribution chain including MGAs, facility providers, structured program providers, and syndicates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with MGAs, brokers, Managing Agents whilst taking ownership of stakeholder engagement to support performance strategies.
• Drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of delegated underwriting performance frameworks, with a focus on application to MGAs and structured programs.
• Collaborate with Lloyd's regional and country managers to ensure effective local oversight and performance monitoring of MGAs.
• Lead targeted initiatives aimed at improving the underwriting performance of underperforming MGAs.
• Conduct detailed delegated capability assessments of Managing Agents, brokers, and product partners, applying a performance-focused lens.
• Work cross-functionally with other teams in Markets to evaluate Managing Agents' ability to meet delegated authority requirements under the Principles Based Oversight model.
• Play a key role in establishing a Delegated Authority Centre of Excellence, keeping abreast of evolving models such as algorithmic underwriting and generative AI.
• Support the development and implementation of Lloyd's Delegated Authority strategy, helping to adapt oversight, systems, and processes to reflect a dynamic market environment.
• Contribute to shaping the DA front-of-house approach, including defining Lloyd's appetite and evaluation process for new entrant applications.
