Job Title: Underwriting, Review and Funding Manager

Location: Slough

Salary: £60,000

Our client, a respected blue-chip company, is looking for a Manager to ensure the Underwriters, Review and Funding team is working to company and regulatory requirements whilst maintaining SLAs and supporting the development of the team from both an individual and business growth perspective.

The successful candidate will have experience in an equivalent role, ideally (though not essentially) in consumer finance. You will have practical experience with scorecard design and testing, understand the commercial and risk implications associated with timely and accurate credit/lending decisions and compliance levels, you will thoroughly understand the underwriting processes and procedures. You will be confident making appropriate underwriting decisions reinforcing decline decisions if challenged.

The role is varied, but your responsibilities include:

Manage Underwriters to ensure they are underwriting proposals in accordance with credit policy rules and SLAs

Working with the compliance team to undertake statistically representative sampling (proposal reviews) of deals paid out

Proactively review Underwriting work queues in accordance with agreed work queue status review targets and take appropriate actions

Acts as escalation point for inbound enquiry calls in the event they cannot be resolved by Underwriters

Ensure the Director is aware of potential issues associated with proposal backlog
