Indigo Healthcare is working in partnership with an established specialist nursing provider to appoint a Unit Manager for a large service in the Shipley area.

This is a role suited to an experienced qualified nurse who enjoys being visible on the floor, leading a team and remaining hands-on with care. The service provides specialist 24/7 support to young adults with complex physical and neurological conditions and has a strong clinical focus, including palliative care.

The Opportunity

You will take day-to-day responsibility for leading your unit, supporting the team and ensuring consistently high standards of clinical care.

The role operates on a 50/50 supernumerary basis, giving you a genuine balance between leadership and hands-on nursing. You'll spend part of your time supervising and supporting the team, while remaining directly involved in the delivery of care.

This isn't a role where you'll be managing from the office. It's about being present on the floor, providing clinical leadership, supporting your team and making sure residents receive the right care throughout the shift.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

* Leading and supervising the team on shift, ensuring consistent, high-quality care

* Providing visible clinical leadership and support across the unit

* Overseeing complex care needs including epilepsy, tracheostomy care and spasticity management

* Supporting person-centred care plans around individual residents' needs and goals

* Maintaining CQC compliance and internal quality standards

* Acting as a point of escalation and support for the care team

* Working closely with families, visiting professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team

About You

You'll be a qualified nurse who is confident leading a team within a nursing or complex care environment and comfortable remaining hands-on.

You'll likely have:

* RGN, RMN or RNLD qualification with an active NMC PIN

* Experience leading a team within a nursing or care setting

* A confident and practical approach to clinical leadership

* Experience of complex physical or neurological care would be advantageous

* Strong communication and organisational skills

* A genuine commitment to person-centred care

Package

* £22.79 per hour, inclusive of paid breaks

* 28 hours per week

* Set early and late shift pattern

* 50/50 supernumerary split between leadership and hands-on care

* Established specialist service with strong clinical support

* Supportive senior leadership structure
