Unit Supervisor

Purpose of the role
To support the Unit Manager in the effective and efficient delivery of Civil Parking Enforcement services, including Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), residents’ parking permits, camera enforcement and associated debt recovery processes.

Key Responsibilities of Unit Supervisor

* Supervise and manage the day-to-day work of the Notice Processing Unit, allocating workloads and ensuring legislative, service and performance deadlines are met.

* Support and deputise for the Team Manager, including staff management, training, development, performance management, budgets and work programmes.

* Oversee the processing of PCNs, residents’ permits and camera enforcement, including debt recovery, appeals, complex cases and compliance with relevant legislation.

* Provide specialist advice and manage complex cases, including investigations, correspondence, adjudication appeals, Court hearings and queries from customers, Members and stakeholders.

* Monitor and improve service performance, developing policies and procedures, maintaining systems, producing reports and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Key skills and experience of Unit Supervisor

* Experience of supervising or managing a team in a busy administrative or enforcement environment.

* knowledge of Civil Parking Enforcement, PCNs, permits, appeals and relevant legislation is desirable

* Excellent organisational, workload management and problem-solving skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and dealing with complaints.

* Ability to manage performance, develop staff and support service improvement.

* Professional, customer-focused approach with sound judgement and attention to detail.

Pay
