Upholsterer

We are working with a reputable client based in Pontefract who require a professional Upholsterer to join their team.

The position is a permanent role paying up to £14.85 per hour (DOE).

Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 7.00am - 4.30pm + Friday 7.00am - 11.00am

Holidays - 23 Days + Bank Holidays (31 in total)

Monthly Bonus Scheme - paid when meeting individual production targets

Annual Discretionary Bonus - upto 10% of Annual Salary (twice per year)

Key Responsibilities:

* Upholster a wide range of furniture, working from the initial frame through to the completed, finished product.

* Use a variety of upholstery and workshop equipment, including staple guns, drills and hand tools, to manufacture high-quality furniture.

* Accurately interpret and follow upholstery specifications, technical drawings and production instructions.

* Carry out repairs, alterations and re-upholstery work on existing furniture as required.

* Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship while working efficiently to meet agreed deadlines.

* Work collaboratively with the wider production team to ensure production schedules and targets are achieved.

* Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment, following all company Health & Safety procedures and taking responsibility for your own safety and that of others.

Skills & Experience:

* Previous experience in furniture upholstery, ideally with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience.

* Good knowledge of upholstery techniques, including cutting, sewing, padding, webbing, fitting and finishing.

* Confident and competent in the safe and correct use of upholstery tools, equipment and machinery.

* Strong attention to detail, with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes and consistently high standards of workmanship.

* Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with complex, bespoke or challenging furniture pieces.

* Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet production deadlines.
