Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer – UPS to join the Operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced UPS Engineer, UPS Maintenance Engineer or UPS Service Engineer to join an established and growing business operating across the generator, UPS and gas engine CHP sectors.

The successful UPS Field Service Engineer / UPS Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing, fault finding and remedial works across a range of UPS systems from 5kVA to 1MVA.

The role will include scheduled servicing, remedial works and reactive breakdown response.

A callout rota is also in operation, requiring participation in out-of-hours support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of UPS systems from 5kVA to 1MVA.
Work as a UPS Maintenance Engineer, diagnosing and rectifying electrical and system faults.
Complete remedial works, including minor and major UPS overhauls.
Carry out UPS battery replacements.
Work on new and replacement UPS installations.
Respond to reactive breakdowns and act as the first responder on site.
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance.
Provide professional UPS Service Engineer support to customers across your assigned geographical area.
Travel throughout the UK, primarily covering your assigned geographical area.
Participate in the out-of-hours callout rota.
Maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness and personal presentation.
Complete accurate engineering documentation and reports.
Work independently while maintaining strong communication with the wider engineering team.
ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be an experienced UPS Engineer / UPS Maintenance Engineer who is comfortable working remotely and independently.

You will need to be confident dealing with customers, diagnosing technical issues and working effectively in a fast-moving engineering environment.

Experience as a UPS Field Service Engineer or UPS Service Engineer would be highly relevant to this position.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

3–5 years' relevant experience as a UPS Systems Maintenance Engineer / UPS Engineer.
Experience working across all major UPS brands.
18th Edition IEE qualification.
Strong practical electrical engineering knowledge.
Good IT skills, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
Practical experience using laptop-based UPS system analysis and control programmes.
Right to live and work in the UK.
DESIRABLE

Manufacturer training qualifications.
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
ECS Card.
Own basic electrical and mechanical tool kit.

Reading | Slough | Oxford | Surrounding Areas

There will also be a requirement to travel throughout the UK and occasionally work away from home
