The Role:

As a WCA Functional Assessor, you'll assess how an individual's health conditions or disabilities affect their functional ability and capacity for work. You will:

* Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments

* Take detailed clinical histories using structured questioning

* Explore the impact of physical, mental and cognitive conditions

* Assess functional ability and work-related limitations

* Review medical evidence and supporting information

* Apply clinical reasoning and professional judgement

* Produce clear, accurate and evidence-based reports

* Manage your own caseload while meeting quality standards and deadlines

The role is focused on assessing, analysing and reporting, rather than treating or providing hands-on care.

What We're Looking For:

* Registered Nurse, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist

* Active NMC or HCPC registration

* Minimum 12 months' post-registration clinical experience

* Strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills

* Confident communication and report-writing abilities

* Good IT and organisational skills

* Able to work independently and make evidence-based decisions

Full Training Provided

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience.

You'll receive structured, fully paid training covering WCA methodology, assessment techniques, evidence evaluation, clinical reasoning and report writing.
