User Experience Designer (SFIA4)

Zaizi is looking for a User Experience Designer to work in a delivery-focused, agile environment, working with government clients. You’ll be working alongside other User Experience Designers and User Researchers, as well as analysts, developers and testers, to define and create prototypes and other user-centred design artefacts that will help to understand user motivations, context and behaviour, processes and services, around end-to-end user journeys.

This role is remote for the foreseeable future with onsite client working where required and occasional travel to head office in London for workshops/meetings.

Role objectives:

These are the expected objectives for this role and we would be eager to discuss this further during the interview process and jointly agree it with the successful candidate.

• Expert knowledge and experience of user-centred design methods needed to gain a deep understanding of users and their needs and motivations
• Communicate and evangelise user needs to the project team and wider stakeholders
• Translate concepts into prototypes and capture user feedback to improve designs
• Understand and address design goals, usability and accessibility requirements
• Mentor less experienced Designers to develop their skills and knowledge

Core skills & competencies:

• Experience with a range of user-centred design and service design techniques and practices
• Excellent knowledge and experience of prototyping and interaction design
• The ability to plan user-centred design activities and describe design goals for a system, product or service
• Choosing the appropriate tools and techniques to elicit user requirements and design user experiences
• Plan and conduct workshops
• Theming and synthesise outputs from raw research to product strategic insights
• Communicating information to stakeholders and your team
• Evaluating different design options and making recommendations that take into account complex requirements
• Being able to to work in an agile and flexible way across one or more agile projects

Salary: £56,000 - £66,000
