Job Description - Van Technician

Van Technician needed

£37,500 - £48,000 (OTE)

Gloucester

Our client, a top brand commercial vehicle dealership, is seeking for a Van Technician to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be keeping our customer’s vehicles on the road, via quality, safe and compliant maintenance.

Role: Van Technician

Salary: £37,500 - £48,000 (OTE) per annum

Hours: Week one: 06:00 to 14:30, Monday to Friday. Week two: 13:30 to 22:00, Monday to Friday.

Location: Gloucester

Key Responsibilities of Van Technician:

  • Performing major and minor repairs to light goods vehicles, trailers and other vehicles.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services such as tyre rotation and oil changes.
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired or handled.
  • Providing repair services to clients on the road in case of emergencies.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.

Requirements for Van Technician:

  • need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in LCV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, plus,
  • will have experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs.
  • the ability to identify worn & faulty components in accordance with the DVSA Standards and have a current,
  • full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.
  • A resilient person is someone who has strong coping skills and can draw on these when life presents challenges.
  • To ensure personal and team success, being motivated is essential and is a key part of your role and it is part of being a brilliant team player.
  • Precision in diagnosing issues and conducting repairs to ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within timeframes to meet customer demands and maintain workshop efficiency.
