Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting one of our well-established clients based in Coventry. This is a great career development and growth opportunity to become a VAT Assistant Manager.

Role Requirements:

• Preparation and review of VAT returns ensuring they are completed correctly and in a timely manner from the financial data processed.
• Manage the filing of the VAT returns to HMRC each month.
• Significant understanding of and previous experience with VAT compliance.
• A good knowledge of VAT technical areas.
• Responsibility for reviewing of VAT returns prepared by other team members.
• Experience using an accounting/compliance software platform.
• Ability to manage a large and varied client portfolio.
• Monitoring the VAT workflow across the client base.
• Working with internal staff to provide guidance and advice on VAT issues.
• Any other ad hoc work where required.

Personal Requirements:

• ACA/ACCA/ATT/ CTA qualification, or a similar professional qualification (QBE candidates may also be considered)
• Significant exposure to personal and private client tax in a specialist or mixed role.
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Experience of working in a client-facing role.
• Able to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines.
• Demonstrate accuracy in technical work delivered.
