VAT Associate Director Financial Services

Role Overview:

As an Associate Director in the Financial Services Indirect Tax (FS VAT) team, the individual will:

• Provide relevant advice on Indirect Tax matters, backed by knowledge of legislation and case law.
• Ensure compliance with risk management processes from client take-on to assignment completion.
• Scope, deliver, and bill client work, providing high-quality technical advice to diverse clients.
• Guide junior staff and support Directors and Partners.
• Produce technical work with minimal review and convey key points to clients.
• Review the work of team members.

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum criteria include experience in Indirect/VAT Taxes and a relevant tax qualification (CTA/ATT).

Desirable skills:

• Experience advising financial institutions on partial exemption, cross-border supplies, and relevant judgments.
• Advising on complex technical indirect tax matters.
• Managing a varied portfolio of Indirect/VAT tax clients within Financial Services.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build long-standing business relationships.
• Comfort working in mixed-discipline teams and leading projects.
