Description

• Oversee VAT compliance across UK and international jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
• Manage and review the preparation of VAT returns, EC Sales Lists and submissions.
• Provide indirect tax advice on new business initiatives, product development, and cross-border transactions.
• Monitor legislative changes in VAT and indirect tax, assessing their impact on the business.
• Work closely with finance, legal, and commercial teams to identify and mitigate VAT risks.
• Manage VAT audits and queries from tax authorities.
• Support process improvements and implement technology solutions to streamline VAT reporting.
• Mentor and support junior members of the tax team

Profile

A successful VAT Manager should have:

• A strong background in VAT compliance and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in managing VAT compliance within a complex organisation.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and VAT reporting tools.
• A professional qualification in accounting or taxation (e.g., AAT, ACA, ACCA, or CTA).
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
