What you’ll be doing
As a Vehicle & Plant Technician, you’ll be responsible for the preventative maintenance, servicing and repair of a varied fleet.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on vehicles and plant.
* Inspecting vehicles in accordance with Department for Transport standards, completing all relevant inspections and reports.
* Servicing and maintaining vehicles and plant in line with manufacturer recommendations.
* Helping to minimise equipment downtime and supporting the de-fleeting of vehicles and plant when required.
* Raising work orders and processing inspection and service reports.
* Ordering parts through the relevant fleet management system.
* Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for a technically capable and safety-conscious technician who can hit the ground running.
You’ll ideally have:
* A City & Guilds qualification in Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics.
* Extensive experience repairing and maintaining commercial vehicles and plant.
* Experience working with fleet management systems and confidence using computer-based systems.
* A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
* The ability to make practical, cost-effective decisions without ever compromising safety.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.
