The Role and About You:

As a Vehicle Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping critical assets in top condition. Your work will cover the full spectrum of mechanical and electrical maintenance on heavy-duty machinery, specialist vehicles, and associated systems. This is a safety-critical operations role where your attention to detail, accountability, and knowledge of mechanical/electrical engineering will be put to the test.

Your responsibilities will include:

Performing planned inspections, servicing, and overhauls on large mechanical and electrical systems
Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on braking, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
Replacing and installing components such as motors, actuators, switchgear, and control panels
Following technical documentation and schematics
Completing condition checks, ensuring all work meets safety, compliance, and quality standards
Maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively within a skilled engineering team
This role requires you to work on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern covering 2 days and 2 nights, with the working hours being 07:00 – 19:00/19:00 – 07:00.

As part of joining a safety-critical environment, you will complete pre-employment checks including a rail medical and drug and alcohol screening, supporting your readiness for the role.
