Our client, a leading UK infrastructure and highways contractor, is looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technicians to join its expanding Mechanical Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied fleet of cars, vans, HGVs and specialist commercial vehicles for customers including emergency services, NHS fleets, Iveco and other commercial operators. The Role
As a Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs across a diverse range of vehicles, ensuring they are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards.
The role includes both scheduled servicing and emergency breakdown repairs, working within a modern workshop alongside an experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on cars, vans, HGVs and commercial vehicles. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults. Complete preventative maintenance and inspections to DVSA standards. Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs when required. Complete all service documentation and job records accurately. Process warranty repairs where applicable. Maintain high standards of workshop health and safety. Support and mentor apprentices and trainee technicians. Work effectively both independently and as part of the wider workshop team.
Requirements
Essential
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Motor Vehicle Repair. Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. Experience working on a range of vehicle manufacturers. Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures. Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
LGV Licence. Experience working on commercial vehicles or HGVs. Experience supporting apprentices or junior technicians.
Training & Development
The successful candidates will benefit from ongoing manufacturer and industry training, including:
Iveco manufacturer training HGV technical training Electric Vehicle (EV) training Health & Safety and Environmental training Roadside recovery training (where applicable)
