Vehicle Technician - Newton Abbott

The Role:

Here at Silcom Recruitment, we are on the hunt for an experienced, diligent Vehicle Technician to work from Monday to Friday in a well-equipped workshop. You’ll be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles, delivering high-quality workmanship, and contributing to a busy, efficient team environment.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair vehicle faults across systems including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrics.

Perform scheduled servicing such as oil changes, inspections, and component replacements.

Use advanced diagnostic tools to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.

Maintain clean, safe, and organised workspaces.

Record all completed work accurately, including parts and labour.

Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth workflow.

Adhere to health & safety standards and maintain quality procedures.

Experience & Skills

Hold a relevant vehicle technician/mechanic qualification (e.g. IMI Level 3 or equivalent) - Essential.

Proven experience as a technician, be it in main dealer, workshop, or independent environment.

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and a pride in delivering high-quality work.

Full valid UK driving licence.

Own tools and a personal toolkit are preferred.

Package & Benefits

Basic salary: £35,000 per annum (experience-dependent).

Commission: Up to £1,700/month for high-performing and efficient technicians. HUGE EARNING POTENTIAL!

Working hours: 08:00-17:00, Monday-Friday (no weekends).
