Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
Midforest Veterinary Practice - West Totton, Hampshire
Salary up to £70,000 DOE, welcome bonus up to £5,000 and relocation allowance up to £5,000
At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.
For over 40 years, Midforest Vets, part of ivc, has been part of the local community, building lasting relationships with generations of clients and their pets.
Now, we're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team and become part of a practice where you can enjoy your clinical work, develop your interests and have the support of an experienced team around you.
First Opinion With Plenty of Variety
If you enjoy the variety of first-opinion practice, you'll feel right at home here.
You'll see a varied caseload of cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, with a great mix of consultations, surgery and medical work-ups. You'll have the opportunity to follow your own cases and build strong relationships with both clients and their pets.
There's also a busy dentistry caseload, making this a great opportunity for a vet who enjoys surgery and wants to develop their clinical skills further.
Whatever your interests, you'll have the clinical freedom to develop them and the support to keep learning.
A Team That Has Your Back
You'll be joining a close team of four Veterinary Surgeons, six experienced RVNs and a dedicated Client Care Team who genuinely enjoy working together.
With certificate holders in ultrasound and dentistry already within the team, there's plenty of knowledge to share and colleagues to learn from. CPD and certificate study are actively encouraged, so whether you want to deepen an existing interest or discover something new, we'll support you.
Great Facilities Across Two Sites
Working across our Totton and Lyndhurst practices, you'll have access to modern facilities including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound and a fully equipped in-house laboratory.
You'll have the tools and equipment to investigate your cases thoroughly and provide a high standard of patient care, while benefiting from the experience and support of the wider team.
Work-Life Balance That Really Matters
Full-time hours are worked across four 10-hour days, with just 1:5 Saturday mornings (8:30am–12:30pm), worked as sole charge. There are no out-of-hours or on-call commitments, allowing you to enjoy a genuine work-life balance while pursuing a rewarding veterinary career.
Enjoy Life in West Totton
Perfectly positioned on the edge of the New Forest National Park, West Totton offers the best of both worlds. Spend your free time exploring beautiful woodland walks, cycling trails and stunning coastline, while benefiting from excellent transport links to Southampton, Winchester and the South Coast. With great local amenities, a welcoming community and endless outdoor adventures right on your doorstep, it's a fantastic place to live, work and unwind.
