Vice President - Corporate Tax - Global Banking Group - Up to £115,000 + Bonus + Benefits - City/Lon

We are currently recruiting for a role for an experienced senior Tax professional, which has been released by our client, a reputable and highly successful global banking group based in the City/London. The bank is a well-managed business with a thoughtful business plan and stable business base. This rolecovers Corporation Tax compliance and reporting, transfer pricing and tax accounting, while also providing support to the Capital Markets / Investment Banking business.

Profile / Search Criteria:

1. Possessing a professional qualification with proven post-qualification experience in all aspects of tax compliance and advisory, preferably Banking taxation
2. Experience of tax reporting for statutory accounts purposes and group reporting
3. Good understanding of tax regulation and policy
4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Role Summary:

1. Assist in implementing and maintaining a EMEA Pillar 2 reporting and compliance framework.
2. Support the UK Head of Tax on advisory matters relating to Front Office and Group transactions.
3. Manage the optimisation of the Group’s UK Bank Levy position and the compliance obligations.
4. Assist in transfer pricing compliance.
5. Assist in corporation tax compliance and reporting for some of the UK group companies.
6. Assist in process optimisation, simplification and automation.

Responsibilities / Tasks:

1. Design and implement a Pillar 2 reporting and compliance framework for the EMEA group. This will involve working with EMEA Finance and Head Office colleagues and external advisors. The role holder will also be responsible for maintaining and refreshing the framework in response to regulatory and organisational changes.
2. Supporting the UK Head of Tax on advisory matters in relation to Front Office and Group transactions, this includes, new products, business reorganisations, etc.
3. Manage the optimisation of the Group’s UK Bank Levy position and the compliance obligations, including monitoring the Group’s Bank Levy profile, monitoring regulatory changes, etc.
4. Assist in transfer pricing compliance, this will include working with the bank’s Americas division and external advisors on the Derivatives Products Group Advance Pricing Agreement.
5. Assist in the corporation tax compliance, IFRS and GAAP reporting for some of the UK group companies.
6. Drive process efficiency within the team, identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements and drive delivery.
7. Keep up to date with tax regulations and ensure that any changes are communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
