Job Description - Video Content Producer and Strategy Lead



Your mission


About the Job


This is your chance to launch Heat Geek’s first-ever in-house video production team. You’ll be taking the baton from our outsourced production partner and stepping into a role that’s critical to how we grow and communicate with our customers.

You’ll own our video strategy end to end, from YouTube to TikTok, and use content to drive real business outcomes. Video is one of our most powerful growth channels and sits at the heart of the business. If you love the idea of steering the content engine behind one of the UK’s fastest-growing clean energy startups, this is your role.



Your profile


Outputs You’ll Lead:

  • YouTube / Video content and social strategy
  • Regular cadence of content 
  • Short form repurposing of high-performing videos across multiple social media channels
  • Impact measurement and KPI tracking to iterate and evolve content

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience with YouTube content strategy and growth
  • Comfortable directing shoots and guiding non-actors on camera
  • Excellent understanding of creative for social and video distribution
  • Strong copy/scripting instincts and organisational skills
  • Experience working cross-functionally with everyone across the team
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced environment

Job Requirements

  • Own and evolve the Content strategy
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct video shoots across various formats (long form, Shorts, testimonials, installs, promos)
  • Write or edit scripts and briefs for all shoots
  • Optimise video content for performance across platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Collaborate with internal teams on content/campaign integration and messaging
  • Set creative direction and visual tone for the video team
  • Review and give notes on edits, animations and final delivery

This is a 3-day-in-the-office-hybrid role where you will work with the team at our office in Sustainable Ventures in Waterloo, Europe's biggest climate tech hub. It's a 5 minute walk from Waterloo Station and an energising space for anyone working on climate change!
