Virtual School Teacher

A dedicated Virtual School service in London is seeking a resilient, empathetic, and highly organized Virtual School Teacher to join their team. This position is a replacement role due to an upcoming transition, offering a fantastic opportunity to step into a well-run caseload and make an immediate impact on secondary-aged learners.

As a Virtual School Teacher, you will not be based in a traditional classroom. Instead, you will act as a champion, advocate, and academic coordinator for Looked-After Children (LAC) and care-experienced young people across the borough, with a specific focus on critical exam and transitional phases.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Advocacy: Monitor the educational progress, attendance, and GCSE/vocational attainment of a designated cohort of Key Stage 4 (KS4) looked-after children.
PEP Management: Lead, coordinate, and review high-quality secondary Electronic Personal Education Plans (ePEPs) in partnership with social workers, foster carers, and school Designated Teachers.
Targeted Interventions: Identify gaps in learning and implement bespoke educational interventions, ensuring Pupil Premium funding is utilized effectively to boost GCSE outcomes.
Transition Support: Provide vital guidance during critical academic transitions, successfully steering young people from Key Stage 4 into Post-16 pathways, further education, or training.The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS is essential.
Extensive experience teaching or supporting learners at the Key Stage 4 (KS4) level is essential.
Prior experience working within Post-16 pathways, further education, or career guidance is highly desirable.
Proven experience working with Looked-After Children (LAC), Vulnerable Youth, or in an Alternative Provision (AP) / SEN setting.
A deep understanding of GCSE frameworks and the statutory guidance for the education of care-experienced children.What We Offer:
