In this role, you\u2019ll accelerate how teams launch and operate data products safely by embedding governance, guardrails and risk to value thinking into the heart of our platforms and processes. \n \nYou\u2019ll own the operating rhythm for data risk, define enterprise governance KPIs, and lead the narrative into senior forums, ensuring threats translate into meaningful controls. With two direct reports, you\u2019ll set direction, remove blockers and orchestrate cross department alignment, partnering closely with AI, Data Science, Privacy, Cyber, Platform, BI and commercial teams across the UK. \n \nYou\u2019ll also shape the future of our combined tech stack, influencing investment decisions and driving adoption of key systems such as Collibra, Satori, Dataplex and enterprise governance forums as we build a best in class data ecosystem. \n \nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Lead the execution of the UK Data Governance \u0026 Risk strategy, defining KPIs that balance delivery speed with enterprise grade safety and compliance.\n * Shape and deliver executive level risk storytelling, providing a single, coherent view of data risks and their commercial and regulatory impact into senior forums.\n * Translate emerging risks into practical governance and guardrails, approving standards and driving rapid control design and rollout across key platforms (GCP, EDW, Satori, Collibra, Tableau/Strategy).\n * Influence and mature the federated data operating model, strengthening business ownership and stewardship while removing bottlenecks through targeted enablement.\n * Champion automation across workflows, lineage, data quality and access orchestration, prioritising investments that reduce manual effort and accelerate cycle times.\n * Partner with Operations, Quality, Privacy, Cyber, Platform and Analytics teams to embed governance into everyday delivery and ensure safe, scalable data product development.\n * Maintain strong relationships with auditors and regulators, ensuring governance practices stand up to scrutiny and support a best in class risk posture.\n\n\n\n## \n\nWho you are \n \n\n\n * Strong commercial influence, able to shape business narratives that articulate the value of governance, compliance and data driven risk reduction.\n * Deep experience designing and embedding data risk management frameworks, ideally aligned to enterprise risk functions.\n * Proven leadership in federated governance models, driving behavioural change and accountability across diverse functions.\n * Solid understanding of platform level guardrails, including Collibra, Satori, GCP IAM/access patterns and BI tooling.\n * Highly outcome focused, translating policy into measurable service levels, adoption targets and tangible improvements in delivery speed and safety.\n * Skilled at simplifying complexity, enabling teams to adopt governance practices without friction and with clear business benefit.\n\n\n\n \n \nWorried that you don\u2019t meet all the desired criteria exactly? \nWe know that everyone is unique, with multiple aspects to their identity and different experiences behind them.
