Admin Support Volunteer – Marie Curie Hospice (Edinburgh or Glasgow)
Would you like to use your administration and organisational skills to support a charity that provides expert care when it matters most? Marie Curie is looking for two dedicated Admin Support Volunteers to join our Volunteer Services team at either our Edinburgh or Glasgow Hospice.
This is a varied, behind the scenes role where you'll help ensure our volunteer service runs smoothly. You'll support the team by maintaining accurate volunteer records, updating information on MySOS and other internal systems, assisting with the preparation of reports, and carrying out essential administrative tasks that help us manage and support our volunteer community. You'll also assist with correspondence, mailings, preparing resources, and occasionally contact current and former volunteers by telephone to update information or provide support with administrative queries.
Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help ensure our volunteer data is reliable, our reporting is up to date, and our Volunteer Services team can focus on recruiting, supporting and recognising the incredible volunteers who make Marie Curie's work possible.
We're looking for someone who is organised, reliable and confident using Microsoft Office and computer based systems. You'll enjoy working with information, communicating with people, and taking pride in producing accurate work while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
You'll volunteer for around 3–4 hours each week, ideally on the same day each week, and receive full training on all aspects of the role, including MySOS, reporting processes and Marie Curie systems. You'll also be supported throughout your volunteering by your Volunteer Manager and Volunteer Services Officers.
In return, you'll gain valuable experience in administration and data management, develop transferable skills, meet new people, and make a genuine contribution to the work of Marie Curie. Reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed, and you'll be recognised as an important part of our team.
Requirements:
• Be aged 18 or over.
• Commit to approximately 3–4 hours per week for at least six months.
• Provide two non-family references and complete a criminal records check.
• Attend required training and follow Marie Curie policies and procedures.
If you're looking for a rewarding volunteer role where your organisational skills will have a real impact, we'd love to welcome you to the team.
