Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager

Premier Work Support are delighted to be recruiting for a permanent Warehouse & Logistics Manager for one of their key clients based in Basildon, Essex.

As the Warehouse & Logistics Manager you will oversee the operational performance across two freight forwarding warehouse facilities, ensuring efficient cargo handling, compliant documentation, and seamless coordination between warehouse, transport, and customs functions.

You will need to be a strategic and commercially minded leader with strong knowledge of international freight processes, regulatory requirements, and customer service expectations within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Cargo handling and warehouse operations
Logistics and transport coordination
Inventory and warehouse control

Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management within the freight forwarding industry (air, sea, or multimodal).
Strong understanding of bonded warehouse operations, customs processes, and international freight documentation.
Knowledge of IATA, CAA, HMRC, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency with WMS/ERP systems and data-driven decision making.
Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, Six Sigma desirable).
Comfortable stepping into operational tasks when required to support team performance and service delivery.Due to the environment that this role will be working in you must have the following:

5 years full employment history
Clear DBS check (which our client will undertake and fund)
Warehouse Management experience
Valid FLT Certification
Proven experience of dealing with Budgets, KPIs, weekly/monthly reporting, complianceCore hours of work are Monday to Friday 09.00 - 17.30

Although there are a further 2 shift patterns between 06.00 and 20.00 that the warehouse operates, so the ideal candidate must be willing to cover absences where required.
