Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced ASRS Operator / Warehouse Operative on behalf of Budweiser Brewing Group UK & Ireland in Magor.

This is a long-term, ongoing opportunity with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidates. You'll work within a fast-paced logistics environment, supporting the smooth operation of pallets through the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).

The role involves the consistent execution of daily, weekly and monthly activities to help the Logistics Department meet its requirements for cost, quality, service and behaviours through agreed ways of working.

What We Offer

£16.22 per hour basic rate.

£24.33 per hour overtime after 48 hours.

Premium weekend and Bank Holiday overtime up to £32.44 per hour.

Key Duties

Ensure pallets are stable, standard and secure.

Remove or secure any loose wrap or top sheets.

Repair rejected pallets and understand how and why they have been rejected.

Work with FLT Drivers to remove, re-stack or repair pallets that fall outside acceptable system parameters.

Use system software to resolve pallet breakages or jams.

Work to agreed timescales and ways of working, maintaining strong attention to detail.

Maintain basic 5S standards across the ASRS area.

Support engineers with maintenance activities linked to ASRS performance.

Carry out basic maintenance and fault finding to support smooth system operation.

Monitor ASRS equipment and report recurring faults or performance issues to engineers.

Occasionally operate the ASRS independently in the absence of engineers, including during holidays.

Work safely at height when required to operate ASRS components.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Operate ASRS equipment to ensure the department delivers finished goods of the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost.

Support the training and onboarding of new team members to maintain consistent standards and knowledge across the team.

Undertake improvement activities to support departmental KPI targets, including Short Interval Control (SIC).

Undertake training for new skills and tasks within the Logistics Department in line with PDPs.

Carry out Logistics-related tasks as directed by the First Line Manager.

Attend meetings and briefings as necessary.

Complete all documentation and transactions required to operate and improve departmental performance.

Ensure all internal customer requirements are met.

Requirements

Comply with all statutory and legal requirements.

Comply with all Safety, Health & Environment requirements.

Comply with appropriate packaging and food hygiene safety regulations as defined by policy or legislation, including HACCP.

Comply with all product and process quality requirements.

Comply with all housekeeping, cleaning and 5S requirements.

Ability to work safely at height when required.

Ability to carry out basic maintenance and fault finding.

Ability to use system software to support ASRS operations.

Ability to work effectively as part of an efficient logistics team.
