Job Overview

● Job Title: Warehouse Manager

● Location: Blackpool (Site Based)

● Salary Range: £32,000 to £40,000+ per year (depending on experience,

location, and scale of operation)

● Hours: Full-time (typically 40 to 42 hours per week)

Role Summary

You will have overall responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient running of the

warehouse. You will oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, manage team

performance, and ensure that productivity and customer service targets are met. Must

be computer literate.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Logistics

● Manage the day-to-day workflow from goods-in and unloading to picking,

packing, and dispatch.

● Coordinate with internal teams the materials required across multiple locations

and arrange to deliver materials on time.

● Ensure all delivery and dispatch schedules are met accurately and on time.

● Coordinate transport links, couriers, and communication with external suppliers.

Inventory & Systems

● Monitor stock levels and maintain high inventory accuracy using Warehouse

Management Systems (WMS).

● Demonstrate knowledge of working with Sage

● Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and order errors.

● Generate regular performance and inventory reports for senior management.

Health, Safety & Compliance

● Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation (HSE guidelines),

including regular safety checks on racking, equipment, and forklifts.

● Maintain clean, tidy (5S standard) and secure warehouse facilities, controlling

site access.

● Oversee accident reporting, near-miss investigations, and carry out safety

training.

People Management

● Lead, motivate, and mentor warehouse supervisors, forklift operators, and team

members.

● Manage staff rotas, shift patterns, holiday planning, and agency labor

deployment (if required).

● Handle recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and training records.

Requirements & Qualifications

● Experience: 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics

environment, with proven supervisory or management track record.

● Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

● Technical: Good IT literacy and proficiency with Warehouse Management

Systems (WMS). Must be able to use Sage system.

● Licenses/Certifications: Counterbalance or Reach forklift truck (FLT) licence is

essential; H&S qualifications (such as IOSH Managing Safely) are a strong

advantage.
